Houston Astros: 1B Paul Goldschmidt

The Houston Astros were once again one of the best teams in the American League last season, and they do not appear to be going anywhere soon. The Astros won the NL West, and the Divisional Round matchup against Cleveland in sweep fashion, before bowing out in the American League Championship Series.

After winning the World Series the year before, the Astros are going to be on a mission in 2019, and have certainly do nothing to make us think any differently. Not only do they have tremendous talent at the Major League level, but the farm is well-stocked also, boasting top talent like righty Forrest Whitley, outfielder Kyle Tucker, and Yordan Alvarez, who has major power potential.

When it comes to the 2020 offseason,  they are going to have questions up and down their roster, including what to do with Justin Verlander. He has been huge since coming to Houston from Detroit, but at 37-years old, his best days could be behind him. When it comes to the lineup,  they could make a big splash.

One name that is going to get a lot of run next winter is Paul Goldschmidt, who is on a one-year rental with the St. Louis Cardinals. Goldschmidt would be a perfect fit in Houston, with the short porch in left field, and would only add to a lineup that should be one of the best in baseball for the next few seasons.
