5. Elias, interrupted

Elias is a heel again, as evinced by the insult-riddled songs he’s back to singing about whatever town he’s in, but now he’s also being interrupted every time he tries, making him not just a heel, but a frustrated one.

As usual, Elias is seated on his stool in the ring, guitar in hand. But suddenly it’s time for a Seth Rollins video package highlighting his accomplishments over the previous year. Next, the Lucha House Party is introduced and comes to the ring. That, of course, is followed by a commercial. Once back from the break, the Luchas proclaim interest in “walking with Elias,” finally allowing him to sing his song slagging the city of Grand Rapids and its residents.

Lucha House Party is not impressed and Kalisto believes he can do better. He noodles off a few chords and Elias suggests the two duet. This is a trap, of course — when there’s one guitar in a WWE segment it’s maybe getting broken, but when there’s two, one is definitely getting smashed. Such is the case here, with a jealous Elias smashing guitar No. 2 over Kalisto’s back.

Where this is headed is anyone’s guess, though it would be wise to put money on Elias getting interrupted being the crux of his involvement on Raw for the time being. The lack of Jeff Jarrett this week was refreshing, though any time a guitar is smashed he’s there in spirit.
