WWE Monday Night Raw: The 10 for February 11, 2019
9. The other stuff
There’s not much to mention in the “other stuff” category, with so many Elimination Chamber loose ends being tied up ahead of Sunday’s event and Becky Lynch also dominating much of the night’s storylines.
Dean Ambrose took on EC3 for the second consecutive week, this time coming out on top with a surprise small package. More notable was Ambrose coming to the ring as Rollins’ time was concluding, grabbing the microphone and telling his former Shield brother (and recent blood rival) to “slay the Beast,” in reference to Rollins’ upcoming bout with Lesnar.
We all know that Ambrose is on some degree of a farewell tour, with him choosing not to renew his contract, which expires in April. What that means about his coming months is unclear, but the win over EC3 at least points to him avoiding being humiliated via a relentless losing streak.
Nikki Cross also took on Ruby Riott, notable because Riott chose to go it alone and was not accompanied by Riott Squad stablemates Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. Riott picked up the win with a Riott Kick, but the point of the match was not very clear. Wrestling for wrestling’s sake is fine, but without a clearly delineated heel and face this match did not do a good job of connecting with the crowd.
