3. The premier of McMiz TV

Now that The Miz and Shane McMahon are a tag team — and the “best” in the world at that, with the SmackDown Tag Team Championships to prove it — they have also become a broadcast team. Forget Miz TV and welcome to McMiz TV, hosted by these two men who have ostensibly bonded over their respective longstanding daddy issues. Their guests for tonight are The Usos, who will be challenging for the Miz and McMahon’s title on Sunday.

The segment essentially boils down to The Usos questioning the legitimacy of the champions’ team unity and title reign, playing a game called “The Tag Team Test” to prove how in sync the twins are, the Miz and McMahon playing along in their own way (i.e. The Miz feeding answers to McMahon) and ends with the champions laid out by superkicks.

The Usos aren’t wrong. The Miz and McMahon are barely a legitimate tag team and it was by virtue of McMahon’s power in the company that the pair were inserted in the title picture in the first place. Perhaps The Usos’ being a true team will thus lead to a win on Sunday. But with a breakup angle between Miz and McMahon an inevitability, having them hold onto the belts up to and through the deterioration of their relationship makes the most logical sense (of an already illogical thing).

One note to Miz and McMahon: How about you don’t book your opponents to be on your show. Just because it’s your show, that does not mean you won’t eat the occasional superkick for your troubles. The Miz, in particular, should really already know this.
