Round 3 – Pick 80

Isaiah Buggs, DT, Alabama

An area of concern for the Browns had to be their run defense. Stand out defensive end Myles Garrett can only do so much. Inside the team has promising defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi but little else. Drafting a defensive tackle to go with those two would be a great grab for Dorsey and Wilks. Don’t forget Wilks prefer to run a four man front.

Isaiah Buggs is a former edge defender for the Alabama Crimson Tide but looks like a traditional defensive tackle at the next level. At 6-foot-4 and almost 300 pounds, Nick Saban allowed Buggs to work outside despite a lack of tools to play there. The Tide were keen on stopping the run and an almost 300 pound end will do that. Buggs, as an inside player, when featured there, looks to be the type of player that can outperform his draft position.

Wilks will need to see why he seemed to disappear at times while in college. Should a coach get the most out of his dynamic skill set, the Browns could be set up front for a decade. A pairing of Buggs and Ogunjobi gives Cleveland two players who are far from one-dimensional and allow them to rotate the talent they have all over the line.

Round 3 – Pick 95

David Sills, WR, West Virginia

Sometimes a team’s needs line up perfectly with a certain position. That is the case for the Browns and the receiver position. A group that features Jarvis Landry and little else, needs to be upgraded. A solid rookie season from Antonio Callaway helped but another outside weapon would go a long way for the offense and Baker Mayfield.

David Sills V of West Virginia presents the opportunity for the Browns to find an outside option at receiver. Sills offers what the Browns do not have, a big receiver who can win over the top and in the red zone with size. Sills is a long 6-foot-4 and showcased exceptional ability to make contested catches and high point the ball all over the field. He will need to polish his routes a bit but you can’t teach his size and catch radius. This would be the perfect piece to allow Callaway to be the deep burner and Landry work the underneath, the two areas where those players excel. This would be a great haul for the Browns.
