FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – February 14, 2019
High Salary PG
Players costing over $6,667
Kemba Walker (at ORL – $10,700): Needs 46.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 52.3 fantasy points against Indiana. Even though I’m listing Kemba, you can always take Westbrook with confidence because numbers are never an issue for him. But Kemba is a cheaper option who is red hot and the minutes should be there for him as this game projects to be a competitive one. He’s playing like an All-Star for a reason. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
Trae Young (vs NY – $8,400): Needs 36.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 50.2 fantasy points against LA Lakers. You can also take DSJ in this matchup. The pace will be up and both point guards figure to turn in big outings. But I like the way Young is playing a bit more and the Hawks should be feeling it after beating the Lakers. Plus the Knicks are on a back-to-back. DSJ might be more reliable. Young has the higher ceiling. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
High Value PG
Players costing $6,667 or under
DJ Augustin (vs CHA – $5,000): Needs 21.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 15 fantasy points against New Orleans. Aside from a big outing against the Hawks, Augustin hasn’t played well in the last week or so. He’s been involved in some blowouts, which has kept his minutes down. Since this game should be competitive, his minutes will be up and I expect his production to follow. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
Tim Frazier (vs OKC – $4,400): Needs 19.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 23.3 fantasy points against Orlando. I’ll get more in-depth with the Pelicans a bit later. But as far as Frazier goes, if Payton doesn’t end up playing, you can take him with confidence. If Payton plays, his minutes aren’t quite as guaranteed. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling if Payton doesn’t end up playing.
