High Salary PF

Players costing over $6,667

John Collins (vs NY – $8,200): Needs 35.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 34.1 fantasy points against LA Lakers. I’ll get to Anthony Davis in a second. At this spot, your two choices are between Collins and Gordon. And neither are reliable options. But Collins gets the Knicks on a back-to-back so I like him slightly more than Gordon on Thursday. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.

Julius Randle (vs OKC – $7,300): Needs 31.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.8 fantasy points against Orlando. And now we get to the Anthony Davis portion of the slideshow. I don’t know what you’re getting out of him. But I know that Randle is at a lower salary an always kills the Thunder. Meanwhile, Davis is at a high salary and looks like he would rather be in Los Angeles. Randle is the safer bet but if Davis decides to care, he has the higher ceiling. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Marvin Williams (at ORL – $5,700): Needs 24.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.7 fantasy points against Indiana. Even though Williams hasn’t been shooting the ball too well as of late, he continues to get numbers in other categories. The rebounds and scoring will be there for him in this one. He always gets the minutes, which certainly helps. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Omari Spellman (vs NY – $3,700): Needs 15.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 12.6 fantasy points against LA Lakers. It’s a rough night when it comes to value but Spellman has shown a high ceiling and gets decent enough minutes on most nights. And now he gets the Knicks. He had 48 fantasy points against them on Nov. 7 and is averaging 1.75 FPP in two games against them this season. So if he gets minutes, he can produce. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a high ceiling.
