3. C Matt Paradis (Denver Broncos)

This most recent season was cut short after nine games. But when the final numbers were in via Pro Football Focus, only Philadelphia Eagles’ veteran Jason Kelce graded out better at the center position in the National Football League than Denver Broncos’ pivot Matt Paradis.

The former Boise State prospect suffered a broken right fibula in Week 9 during the club’s 19-17 home loss to the Houston Texans. And by all indications, the five-year veteran (who played in zero games as a rookie) could have been back this past season if the club had managed to reach the playoffs. And earlier this month, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Paradis was “ahead of schedule” in terms of his rehab and was “already walking without a boot.”

That’s certainly good news for president of football operations/general manager John Elway and the Broncos, The team will have a new starting quarterback in the form of Joe Flacco in 2019 and would certainly like to get the standout center under contract before free agency starts. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound pro was a sixth-round pick by Denver in 2014 and a member of the team’s Super Bowl 50 championship squad. If Paradis does get the chance to test the open market on March 13, any number of teams would be interested in adding a 29-year-old center with plenty of NFL years left.
