4. Mark Ingram

Ingram is one of our favorite guys in this year’s free agency class. He was understandably overshadowed by Alvin Kamara’s brilliance in New Orleans, but he’s a really productive back in his own right. Philadelphia could give him a great chance to showcase his full range of skills once again.

Simply put, the Eagles can’t go into the 2019 season hoping that Darren Sproles, Wendell Smallwood and company can combine to form a productive backfield. After Jay Ajayi went down, the team’s running backs really struggled to give the rest of the offense much support. We’d be in favor of bringing Ajayi back, but even if they Eagles do re-sign him, adding Ingram would give him a quality foil.

Ingram isn’t a dynamic pass catcher, but he still is very productive as a traditional rusher. He ran for 645 yards on just 138 carries last year for the Saints. The Eagles would happily add a running back capable of giving them 4.7 yards per carry to their options in 2019.

Philadelphia shouldn’t break the bank to sign Ingram, but if the first wave of free agency passes him by they should look to scoop him up at a good price. He’s still got several years of productivity in him. Ingram might be productive enough to get Philly back in the Super Bowl.
