1. Le’Veon Bell
If, as expected, Jay Ajayi leaves in free agency, the Eagles are going to be in the market for a starting running back. They might not want to meet Bell’s asking price, but there’s no denying the fact that he’d be a huge boost to Pederson’s offense.
In particular, he’d give either Wentz or Foles a priceless safety valve. One of the organization’s highest priorities next season is to make sure Wentz can stay healthy for a full season. Adding a dynamic back like Bell to the mix could help him get rid of the ball a lot faster.
It may seem like Bell is a grizzly old veteran, but he’s still just 26. The Eagles could easily sign him to a lucrative three or four-year deal and expect to get the rest of his prime years. The organization may choose to allocate their resources elsewhere, but they won’t find a single more impactful offensive player than Bell on the open market.
Next. Eagles want Foles back, but at what price?. dark
There are plenty of reasons to think the Eagles won’t give Bell a serious look, but when you boil it down to a football decision he’s a guy who makes a ton of sense in Philadelphia. If the team is really serious about maximizing its chances to win a Super Bowl in 2019, bringing Bell into the fold would be a great gamble.
