WWE Elimination Chamber 2019: Preview and predictions

Raw Women’s Championship Match
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Ruby Riott
What a week it’s been surrounding the Raw Women’s Championship. Becky Lynch, who is simply the hottest thing in all of wrestling right now, had to choose whether or not to apologize to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon for attacking both of them, which she did, allowing her to keep her title shot at WrestleMania. However, Vince McMahon had other plans and chose to suspend The Man for 60 days and gave Charlotte Flair Lynch’s spot. Trust me, that’s the short version.
Lost in all this is Ruby Riott, who challenges Ronda Rousey for the title this Sunday at Elimination Chamber. This match came together after Rousey (kinda, sorta) embraced the heel role recently and took out both Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan, making them tap out back-to-back on Raw. With those two busy in the Elimination Chamber Match, Ruby Riott stepped up and threw herself into the title mix, which is essentially just a way to get Ronda on the pay-per-view. Poor Ruby.
Prediction: While there might be a fun tease or two in here, there’s absolutely no way Ruby Riott wins this matchup. I do hope she at least gets some offense in and has a good showing as she truly is a great talent. Unfortunately for her and everyone else in the division right now, they’re just going to have to take a backseat to this Rousey-Flair-Lynch triangle that’s happening right now. Flair will be sitting at ringside and even with their involvement in the Elimination Chamber, Morgan and Logan will likely be there as well.
The fun prediction is for those two to get involved and Flair interjecting herself, not wanting anyone else to be the one to defeat Rousey. Lynch, who can’t just be left out of this event (seriously, she just can’t), also appears on the scene and we get the big three-way staredown and/or brawl before the hoopla next Monday night. Rousey wants nothing but the best competition and all of that jazz and Lynch can earn her way back by defeating this person or that person. But then maybe they will all have to co-exist at Fastlane in a six-woman tag against The Riott Squad.
Yes, that all sounds crazy but it’s just crazy enough to work if they want to stick with this Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania, which I still think is a mistake. But perhaps I’ve gotten off point. Rousey wins. Sorry.
