2. Kareem Jackson, Houston Texans

In the NFL, age is a huge factor. Fans constantly see players who are hovering around the age of 30, or older, struggle on the field and they have to fight to find jobs.

Well, Kareem Jackson is a player who fits the criteria who doesn’t fall into that category. One could argue he is coming off the best year of his nine-year career.

In 2018, he intercepted two passes, defended 17, and had 87 combined tackles and one sack in 16 games. Translation: he did it all for a Houston Texans team that went to the playoffs.

Like the case with Callahan, Jackson was a crucial piece to one of the best secondaries in the league. Perhaps the best reflection of his play is the fact Jackson didn’t allow a touchdown.

Jackson’s age will limit the length he receives on a potential deal, but he will probably be paid relatively well. He was hands down one of the better coverage corners in the NFL in 2018, and that style fits into any defensive scheme.

The veteran will have a busy phone line, as teams will look to add a true, physical, cover corner to their team. Again, as was the case with McCourty, teams may be wary of paying too much for an older player coming off a great year. Regardless, he will be one of the hottest cornerback commodities.
