1. Wide receiver

When you’re paying your quarterback $20 million, you should surround him with talent to succeed. The Titans have somewhat done that for Mariota, but his still needs more help.

Lewis proved to be a great pickup as a change of pace, receiver out of the backfield running back. Henry appears to have figured it out, Delanie Walker is healthier, and Corey Davis took a big step in 2018. Jonnu Smith, Taywan Taylor and Tajae Sharpe were solid secondary and tertiary options. Even with those players, Tennessee still needs to find a number-two receiver for Mariota.

The Titans were the 27th-ranked team in points-per game (19.4) and total touchdowns (34). With so much talent on defense, filling out the offense could make the Titans a legitimate threat out of the AFC South.

Davis, as mentioned before, broke out in 2018. In 16 games, he led the team with 891 receiving yards, 65 receptions and four touchdowns on 112 targets. Taylor was the team-second leading receiver.

Approaching this need can be done in either the draft or free agency, as neither avenue has a clear upside over the other. Free agency has options like a move the chains receiver with Golden Tate, a physical veteran with Demaryius Thomas or a downfield target in Tyrell Williams.

Tate and Thomas would be the cheaper options, while Williams may garner something larger in terms of a contract. It all depends on what the Titans believe they need as a number-two receiver, but Tate would seemingly fit in and become a safety net for Mariota who can open things up for others.
