WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 review: Highlights, takeaways and projections

RAW Women’s Championship Match
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Ruby Riott
Can we all just take a minute to feel a little sorry for Ruby Riott? After the buildup to get her into this matchup (and all of the talent she possesses anyway), the biggest one-on-one match of her career doesn’t even last two minutes. I obviously understand the situation but if things were going to go down the way they did, just do all of that as part of a promo on Monday Night Raw and leave Riott a little bit of dignity.
If by chance you haven’t seen things, here’s what went down: Charlotte Flair, the newly-named opponent for Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania, cut a promo (and not a good one) and was sitting ringside as Rousey decimated Riott in 1:42. Flair gets in the ring after the match for a stare down when Becky Lynch, who is both suspended and “injured”, makes her way through the crowd on crutches and first takes out Flair with a vicious beating with said crutches before turning her attention and doing the same to Rousey, actually breaking her open the hard way in the process. In Stone Cold-like fashion, Lynch was then arrested and escorted from the arena with a huge smile on her face, further cementing her as the hottest act in professional wrestling right now. Excellent segment.
What’s next: We know that Lynch will somehow find her way into the Raw Women’s Championship Match at WrestleMania, and if these three women don’t close the show at ‘Mania, it will be an absolute travesty. As for Riott, please give her a few big wins in the next weeks to reward her for being the sacrificial lamb on Sunday night.
