It’s been a long time coming, but Chyna will finally get her place in WWE history.

Every year, rumors go crazy about who will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. And everyone has their opinions and ideas on who should be included among the legends. This year, one name will be crossed off the list: The Ninth Wonder of the World, Chyna. She’ll be part of a group induction, as the legendary D-Generation X will mark their spot in this year’s WWE Hall of Fame.

It will happen during WrestleMania weekend, and it’s an incredible notion being that the group as an entire unit will be inducted. It is huge for a couple of reasons. For one, Shawn Michaels will be a two-time inductee, as he was previously put in as a singles entry back in 2011. Now he will be recognized for being the co-founder to perhaps the second biggest faction aside from the New World Order to overtake professional wrestling.

But the biggest spotlight on DX getting the nod is the inclusion of the late Joanie Laurer, better known as Chyna. Triple H spoke with ESPN about the decision to put her into the Hall of Fame.

"Look, people believe what they want to believe. When I said a few years ago on the Austin podcast, or show, or whatever you want to call it, there’s complexities around it. But absolutely, definitely deserves to be in there. It’d be tough to pick a female that was more impactful on the business. She did something that was completely so out of left field that it wasn’t even being considered when we first brought it up for her to come in. It wasn’t even a consideration … it wasn’t an easy thing, and against all odds she did all of that. She earned everybody’s trust. She won over the fans. She won over the boys. She did all of it."

Unfortunately, Chyna passed away in 2016, and there have been questions as to if and when she would ever be inducted. Those questions will finally get answered in April. She was a revolutionary member of WWE. She was tougher than most members of the male roster, was the first woman to enter the Royal Rumble and helped pave the way for a lot of women we watch today.

Also on the DX induction menu will be the New Age Outlaws, “Road Dogg” Jesse James and Billy Gunn. They were a controversial tag team put together after their singles careers were lost in the shuffle. It turned out to be life-changing, as they were part of one of the most entertaining eras in wrestling history. They will join X-Pac, who was a longtime friend of Shawn Michaels and Triple H, as part of “The Kliq” with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.

Each member of DX left their own mark on history, and combined became the most controversial group perhaps of all-time. From their often-crude humor, to their legendary battles with the likes of The Rock, The Undertaker and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, they forced everyone to take notice of who they were and what their agenda was.

The 2019 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony takes place during WrestleMania 35 weekend, on April 6 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. If the other rumors circulating are any indication, this year’s class could be absolutely amazing.
