2. Let’s get this out of the way, then

Our contractually-obligated Baron Corbin appearance came early this week and, mercifully, it was the only time we had to see him. Corbin faced Braun Strowman in the first match of the night, a tables match, as a medium for Strowman to use to get his revenge after being beaten down by Corbin and his, um, friends (?) Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre at Elimination Chamber. After scuffling up the aisle, teasing breaking the announce table and finally heading back into the ring, Strowman slams Corbin through a propped-up table, securing the win.

So, about those friends: In a no-disqualification situation the night before, Lashley and McIntyre had no issue coming to Corbin’s aid, but yet neither had any involvement in Corbin’s match on Raw. Is it a fear of being driven through a table by Strowman? If so, that possibility existed the night before. And with Strowman taped up, clearly nursing rib and back injuries, why wouldn’t the heels try to pick at his carcass? Maybe Corbin has finally been abandoned by the two people who could stand being around him, or perhaps Lashley and McIntyre have bored of this Strowman business.

Either way, WWE managed to get this over with quickly and never mentioned it again over the course of the night. It would be nice to say this was the punctuation mark on the feud — so very, very nice — and move on. It’s impossible to be terrified of, let alone entertained by, Strowman when Corbin is just so exhausting. Both men deserve better stories.
