3. The legend of Lesnar

With Brock Lesnar defending his WWE Universal Title against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, WWE needs The Beast to somehow have a presence on Monday Night Raw even when he’s not physically there (which is most of the time). Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, has handled the heavy lifting in the champion’s absence, and this week he handled the narration (and, presumably, production and direction) of a two-part documentary detailing Lesnar’s life and career path.

Effective and entertaining, if only because it’s impossible to not hang on Heyman’s every word, Heyman once again connects Lesnar’s in-ring and in-Octagon success to his upbringing on the family farm. The first part, airing in the first hour, tracks his life through his WWE return and breaking The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania; the second details the list of top-tier Superstars Lesnar has taken down since that win. Rollins is, of course, among them.

The WWE needs to build to this match, and needs to find a way to do so while Rollins is held out of action to heal from injury and Lesnar collects paychecks at home. Perhaps an extended video package (or a series of them, as Rollins had one of his own last Monday) isn’t the most creative way to do this, but it works, especially when there aren’t many other options right now.
