2019 NFL mock draft: Cardinals select Quinnen Williams
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers will pick at No. 12 in 2019, which will be their first of two first round draft choices this April. The Packers were a team that were a major disappointment in 2018, as they failed to make the playoffs despite the fact that they had a healthy Aaron Rodgers under center.
By the time the season had come to a close, not only did the Packers not make the playoffs, but they ended up firing their head coach.. Mike McCarthy will be replaced by Matt LaFleur, who will be getting his first NFL head coaching gig in Green Bay, and has a lot of work to do to get this team back to the top of the NFC North.
Even with a healthy Rodgers under center, this Packers team has struggled on the defensive side of the ball for the last couple of seasons. If they want to get themselves back to being a Super Bowl contender, they have to get better on all three levels of their defense, and they should address their defensive line with the No. 12 overall selection.
One player who could find themselves sitting at No. 12 is Ed Oliver, who many figured to be a top-five pick heading into the 2018 college football season. However, Oliver had a extremely strange last season at the University of Houston, and could see his draft stock plummet a bit, and the Packers should be waiting with open arms this late in round one.
