Georgia. Deandre Baker. 24. player. 28. . Cornerback

With their second of three first round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders should look to bring in a player to help them in the secondary. Last season, 2017 first rounder Gareon Conley stepped up into a star cornerback role, showing the kind of skill that could make him the best corner in the AFC West the season.

Unfortunately, there is going to be a lot of turnover in the position group heading into 2019, as Rashaan Melvin, and Daryl Worley are both scheduled to be free agents. Worley is only 24 years old, and should be back with the Raiders in 2019, but this team needs to add more depth to the position group for sure.

One player who should hear his name called in the first round is Deandre Baker from Georgia, who should be available when the Raiders pick at number 24. This is the selection that they got when they traded away Kahlil Mack, so the hope is that they can bring in a player on the defensive side of the ball that can really make a difference in year one.

Conley certainly looks the part of a guy who can take away one side of the field, and during his time at Georgia, Baker was one of the better defensive backs in the SEC. Oakland has a golden opportunity to really improve this roster this off-season, and it will be up to former draft analyst Mike Mayock, who is now the general manager to push all the right buttons on draft day.
