The Los AngelesCchargers are one of the hottest teams in football for most of the 2018 season, as they finished with a remarkable 12-4 record. Unfortunately, they played in the AFC West, and were forced to settle for a Wild Card berth due to the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs also had a 12-4 record, but held the tiebreaker.

Veteran quarterback Philip Rivers put together another solid season under center for the Chargers, but you have to wonder if he is ever going to be able to get this team to a Super Bowl. The Chargers played great football on both sides of the ball this past season, and heading into 2019, you have to feel that they are going to be one of the AFC teams that are going to be Super Bowl contenders once again.

When it comes time for the Chargers to draft in the first round this April, it is going to be late in round one, and they should look to bring in a player for the interior of their defensive line. The Chargers have elite talent on the edges, including Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram, but the interior of their defensive line could certainly use an upgrade.

One player who should hear his name called in the first round this April is Dre’Mont Jones from Ohio State, who has the size and strength that you look for in an interior lineman at the NFL level. If the Chargers can shore up a couple of their weak points this off-season, it is not out of the realm of possibility that Philip Rivers could finally make it to the biggest game in the sport.
