2019 NFL mock draft: Cardinals select Quinnen Williams
By Brad Weiss
The Oakland Raiders will pick three times in the first round this April, with their first selection coming with the No. 4 overall pick. With that pick, the Raiders should look to bring in a player who can help fill the void left by Kahlil Mack, who was traded just prior to the 2018 NFL season kicking off.
While Mack is a generational talent, and is going to be very difficult to replace, the Raiders have to do a better job in bolstering his position group this offseason. One of the better players at that position in this draft class is Josh Allen from Kentucky, who capped off his incredible college career by terrorizing a very good Penn State offensive line in the bowl game.
During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Raiders brought in LSU edge rusher Arden Key in the third round, and teaming him with a player like Allen would give the Raiders a solid young duo on the outside for years to come. This past off-season, the Raiders made a concerted effort to get better on the interior of their defensive line, drafting PJ Hall and Maurice Hurst, so the addition of Allen would give them a very strong, young defensive line.
Allen is a player who is certain to go in the top five picks, as some believe he may be the best overall player in this draft class. The Raiders were historically bad at getting after the quarterback in 2018, but if the defensive tackles can step up next season, and they can bring in an elite talent like Allen to put on the other side opposite the Key, they could turn this position group around in a hurry.
