With the No. 7 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to have to find a way to bring in a franchise quarterback. Last year, the team signed Blake Bortles to a long-term extension, but he played terribly in 2018, and was benched in favor of Cody Kessler late in the season.

It was an incredible turn of events for the Jaguars, who made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game the year before, holding a 10-point lead over the New England Patriots heading into the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the Patriots were able to overcome that deficit, ending the Jaguars season inside Gillette Stadium, and the Jaguars have not been the same since.

When it comes to this draft class, there are a handful of quarterbacks that should hear their name called in the first round, and Drew Lock from Missouri is definitely one of them. Lock possesses all the intangibles you look for in a franchise quarterback at the NFL level, combining great size with the ability to fit the ball into tight windows.

This Jaguars team has a lot of work to do this off-season, after they appeared to be a favorite to go to the Super Bowl this past season. They may have to trade up out of the No. 7 spot if they want to get the quarterback they desperately need, and if they can bring Lock into the fold, he is a player who could start right away at the NFL level.
