Last season Aaron Rodgers lost one of his favorite targets, Jordy Nelson. This offseason, he could be losing another veteran option, Randall Cobb.

In his final year of his four-year, $40 million contract, Cobb only played in nine games as he battled through different injuries all season long. When he was on the field, he wasn’t very effective. He finished with only 38 receptions for 383 yards and two scores.

This was the first time since 2013 in which he failed to catch at least 60 passes for 600+ yards and four touchdowns. To put his down year into perspective, he was fourth on the team in receiving yards and third in receptions.

Cobb will be 29 years old by Week 1 of next season. He has lost some quickness and speed as a slot receiver and struggles to create space. Furthermore, his injury history is concerning and the Packers could no longer depend on him to be available on a weekly basis.

Even though Rodgers vocalized his support and trust in Cobb at the end of last season, Brian Gutekunst should look to upgrade with a younger option like Adam Humphries.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished 5-11 last season, but Humphries still shined and had a career year. He was targeted over 100 times for the first time ever, snagged 76 passes for 816 yards and five scores. He was second on the team in receptions and third in yards and touchdowns.

According to Pro Football Focus, Humphries earned a career-high 75.2 overall grade, 32nd amongst receivers. Humphries will be 26 years old at the start of the 2018 season. He is one of the most productive unrestricted free agents this offseason.

Humphries will be a hot commodity once free agency opens up. His age and steady progression each season has his projected market value at about $10.4 million per season.
