1. Bolster the wide receiver corps

Back in the day, the Indianapolis Colts were led by quarterback Peyton Manning and a balanced offense. One year after the franchise made the former University of Tennessee signal-caller the first overall pick in the 1998 draft, then-general manager Bill Polian grabbed University of Miami running back Edgerrin James in the first round. Teamed with players such as left tackle Tarik Glenn and future Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison – members of the organization before police in Manning came to Indianapolis – the Colts featured one of the most dynamic and versatile attacks in the league.

This past season, the Colts got back to balance. With a new-look offensive line, Marlon Mack in the backfield and Andrew Luck getting healthier by the week, Indianapolis’ attack became very dangerous. And a great season by tight end Eric Ebron – cast aside by the Detroit Lions – made this a very dangerous offense with a lot of options.

Meanwhile, it was yet another big year for the player who led the team in catches for the fifth time in the last six seasons. Seven-year pro T.Y. Hilton totaled 76 catches for 1,270 yards and six scores, averaging an imposing 16.7 yards per reception.

But imagine how dangerous the four-time Pro Bowler could be with some more help at the position? Unheralded Chester Rogers was the second-leading wideout in terms of catches in ’18 with a respectable 53 grabs. But he averaged just 9.2 yards per catch. Both Dontrelle Inman and Ryan Grant are potential unrestricted free agents. Be it free agency, trade or the draft, don’t be surprised if GM Chris Ballard tries to make a splash here.
