Round 1 – Pick 24

N’Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State

Two straight first round picks and two players replacing the stars that Gruden traded away. He already tried to replace Mack with Clelin Ferrell and now it is time to replace Amari Cooper. The dynamic former first rounder was shipped to Dallas and looks like a different player. Gruden can take solise in the fact that this is not only a loaded edge class but a stacked wide receiver class as well. In this mock draft he gets his shot at the second receiver taken with only Ole Miss’ D.K. Metcalf off the board.

In this instance he opts for Arizona State’s N’Keal Harry. He was the pick over Stanford’s J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, North Carolina State’s Kelvin Harmon and Oklahoma’s Marquise Brown. Harry set himself apart for that trio with his ability to win in various ways. Each of those three offers a unique skill set to an NFL offense but none is as balanced as Harry.

At Arizona State, Harry really did it all, including some eye-popping stat lines this past season. The 6-foot-3. 216 pound junior was a revelation for Herm Edwards this past season. His size makes him the protypical outside receiver. However Harry has shined no matter where he lines up. He blends that fantastic size with incredible speed and ability after the catch. His strong hands allow him to win in contested catch situations. Once he tracks the ball, there is very little defenders can do to stop him. This is a fantastic pick-up for the Raiders and gives them an elite weapon on the outside to help Derek Carr.
