High Salary C

Players costing over $6,250

Hassan Whiteside (at PHI – $6,700): Needs 31.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 17.5 fantasy points against Dallas. Whiteside wasn’t playing well going into the break and I don’t particularly like his game overall. But with no Joel Embiid to contend with, maybe Whiteside is able to do more than he usually would in this matchup. There’s no doubt that Embiid is usually in his head and gives him a lot of trouble. But the Sixers will be a bit undersized without Embiid and Whiteside can potentially feast. Diagnosis: Slightly inconsistent with a high ceiling.

Jusuf Nurkic (at BKN – $7,400): Needs 34.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.75 fantasy points against Golden State. Nurkic cooled off heading into the break but a little rest should do him some good as he plays such a physically demanding style. Expect Nurkic to get himself back on track against a good matchup in the Nets. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Deandre Ayton (at CLE – $7,000): Needs 33 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 33 fantasy points against LA Clippers. Ayton hasn’t quite found his rhythm since the injury but hopefully, the break has done him some good and he’s able to get himself back on track. The good news is that he’ll be coming back against a weak Cavaliers squad. I have to trust the matchup and depending on how injuries shake out, your choices could be limited. And I definitely trust Ayton more than Whiteside. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
