High Value C

Players costing $6,250 or under

DeMarcus Cousins (vs SAC – $6,100): Needs 28.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 37 fantasy points against Utah. I expect Cousins to be over 30 minutes in this contest as he gets closer and closer to 100 percent. And even if he doesn’t get those minutes, I expect a big game from him given the opponent. Cousins is always going to be out for blood against the Kings and now he’s surrounded by three All-Stars to really stomp on their grave. I love Cousins on Thursday. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

JaVale McGee (vs HOU – $5,200): Needs 24.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 10.5 fantasy points against Atlanta. McGee was down against the Hawks but this is a match where he should get the minutes and a matchup he’s done very well against during this season. He’s averaging 31.3 fantasy points in three games against the Rockets and 1.42 FPPM this season against them. He’s a slight risk because minutes are not guaranteed but the ceiling is high. Diagnosis: Slightly inconsistent with a high ceiling.

Marquese Chriss (vs PHO – $4,500): Needs 21 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 38.25 fantasy points against Brooklyn. One reason why Nance Jr. has been pushed down the pecking order in Cleveland a bit has been the play of Chriss. Can he keep this up if Thompson and Love are back in the lineup? I don’t know. But I do know that this is a revenge game of sorts for Chriss and the Suns are always a good matchup to take advantage of. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
