The Jaguars desperately need to improve the right side of their offensive line if they hope for any offensive improvement in 2019. Signing Daryl Williams would solidify the chance of doing so.

Creating the cap space to obtain Williams could prove to be a difficult task for Jacksonville, but ridding themselves of bust free agent signing, Jermey Parnell, while adding $6 million in cap space upon his release, should be their first step. Injuries have limited Williams so far during his four-year career, but his pass blocking ability — while on the field — has proven to be dominant.

Williams lone full season of health came in 2017 when he transitioned from right guard to right tackle. According to Pro Football Focus, the former fourth-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2014 surrendered just four sacks on 631 pass-blocking snaps.

Health will be accounted for in Williams’ market in free agency. The four-year offensive tackle only appeared in one game in 2018 after suffering a season-ending knee injury. Still, the need for an offensive tackle around the league will drum up interest in Williams, and the Jaguars should be one of those teams involved.
