4. Wide Receiver

The Philadelphia Eagles have some real depth issues at the wide receiver spot. Veterans Golden Tate, Mike Wallace and Jordan Matthews are all slated to become free agents. This leaves Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor as the team’s only established threats.

They do have some intriguing youngsters like Mack Hollins and Sheldon Gibson, but both have very limited experience.

Philadelphia’s use of the tight end position does help lessen the urgency off adding talent at wide receiver. Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert will be a major part of the passing game moving forward. Both players have shown the ability to be difference makers.

One issue is that Philadelphia’s top two receivers come with some question marks. Jeffery has had his share of injuries while Agholor has been inconsistent throughout his career.

Philadelphia’s draft position should afford them an opportunity to bring in a young pass catcher. Arizona State’s N’Keal Harris and Ole Miss’ A.J. Brown are just two names to keep an eye on. There limited cap space is an issue meaning that the Eagles could be looking for some high-upside signings.

There’s failed first round picks like Kevin White available and savvy veterans like Dontrelle Inman on the market.
