The Broncos need to do a better job during up their offensive line while adding continuity to the unit. Jared Veldheer did well manning the right tackle spot for Denver, but health continues to be an issue for the soon to be 32-year-old offensive tackle. Investing in the position this offseason would be wise for an offense that appears to have Joe Flacco under center.

Bringing in James would not only be an upgrade, but give the Broncos continuity along the offensive line pairing the 26-year-old with former first-round pick, Garrett Bolles, while forming one of the better offensive tackle tandems in the league.

James did allow a career-high seven sacks in 2018, but was able to limit opposing pass-rushers to only 16 total hurries in 491 pass blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

Injuries have also plagued the former first-round pick in 2014, but when James is on the field — you’re looking at one of the top tier right tackles in the NFL. Adding Flacco and a potential rookie first-round pick quarterback to the roster requires a stable offensive line. Signing James offers exactly what Denver is looking for in that aspect.
