FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – February 24, 2019
High Salary PG
Players costing over $6,667
Dennis Smith Jr (vs. SA – $7,200)
Needs 31.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 22.75 fantasy points against Minnesota.
I don’t know what the Knicks are doing with their rotation. On most nights, DSJ should get plenty of minutes to produce. But the Knicks are just a weird team right now and they really want Zion. Assuming DSJ gets around 30 minutes, he’ll be good enough for at least value in this one.
Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
Jamal Murray (vs. LAC – $6,800)
Needs 29.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 35 fantasy points against Dallas.
I’m expecting a lot of points to be scored in this one and Murray will have his hand in that scoring. He’s inconsistent but has shown a high ceiling and this just feels like a big game for him given the opponent.
Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
High Value PG
Players costing $6,667 or under
Patrick Beverley (at DEN – $5,400)
Needs 23.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30.3 fantasy points against Memphis.
There are some strong point guards at the value option on Sunday despite there being just two games. Beverley is going to get big minutes and the Clippers will need his defense in a game that probably won’t have much defense.
Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
Patty Mills (at NY – $4,600)
Needs 20.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 24.6 fantasy points against Toronto.
Mills may not have the ceiling that other value point guard have, but he has the most reliability because of the minutes he gets and the fact that he’s up against the Knicks. You can always bet against the Knicks.
Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
