High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

DeMarcus Cousins (at CHA – $8,300): Needs 38 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 47.8 fantasy points against Houston. Cousins is still not playing many minutes and yet he’s still delivering huge games. And if Draymond doesn’t play in this one, it should lead to a big night once again for Cousins. The matchup is good as the Hornets frontcourt doesn’t offer much resistance. Expect this to be a big scoring game for Cousins to go along with his rebounds. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Jonas Valanciunas (vs LAL – $7,600): Needs 34.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 43.7 fantasy points against Cleveland. Jonas drew the start against the Cavaliers and had a monster outing with his new team. And now he gets the Lakers and their weak frontcourt. He’s a guy who can put up big numbers in limited minutes but it looks like he’s going to get the minutes in this one, which is a great sign for his value. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Hassan Whiteside (vs PHO – $7,200): Needs 33 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 46 fantasy points against Detroit. I typically don’t like Whiteside’s game and there’s a chance he could do absolutely nothing in this game and it wouldn’t shock me. But I have to trust that he’ll be able to deliver because it’s against the Suns. Who doesn’t have a big game against the Suns at this point? And the Heat need wins if they want to make the playoffs. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
