Round 3: Jamal Peters

If Bradley Roby, as expected, leaves the Broncos via free agency they are going to need to acquire some serious talent at cornerback this offseason. Peters isn’t a guy who can replace Roby by himself, but he can be a part of Fangio’s solution.

It’s entirely possible that Peters won’t last until the third round, but we think he’s going to get dinged a little bit due to his tight hips. He’s not the most fluid guy in coverage, but he makes up for it in other areas.

Namely, he’s got elite size for the position. He’s almost 6-foot-2 and he weighs well over 200 pounds. He doesn’t need to get bigger to adjust to life in the NFL. He’s ready to play from day one in terms of his body.

Remember, the Broncos already possess one of the fiercest pass rushes in the NFL. They don’t need corners to hold up 20+ yards down the field. Instead, they’ll rely on guys who can really dominate match ups in the first 10 yards. That’s something Peters can definitely do. He’d be great value in the third round and perhaps more importantly, he’d be an excellent fit in Fangio’s defense.
