Round 5: Ross Pierschbacher

This might be a little too early to take the Alabama guard, but his versatility would play really well for the Broncos. They could use a player to strengthen their options at both guard and center. The latter might be Pierschbacher’s long-term home in the NFL.

He’s not a guy who will blow anyone off the ball, but he does a terrific job of getting in the way of defenders. Denver shouldn’t count on him to develop as a consistent starter, but drafting a career backup at multiple positions here would be solid value.

Round 5: Terrill Hanks

The New Mexico State linebacker isn’t on everyone’s draft radar, but his versatility has caught the eye of some scouts. He’s going to need time to develop into an every down linebacker, but he should work well in nickel packages and special teams right away. He’s certainly a developmental prospect, but there’s a decent change he can work his way into a starter in a few years.

Round 6: JoJo McIntosh

The Broncos are set with a solid pair of starting safeties, but the depth behind them isn’t great. McIntosh would give them a young player to groom for the future. His Washington tape shows him to be a good, but not great athlete. At worst he’ll be a good special teams performer for Denver.

Round 7: Greg Dortch

Dortch is one of our favorite players in the draft. He has a checkered medical past, but when he was healthy he was flat-out dominant for Wake Forest. He’s too small to play on the outside, but he could be an excellent slot receiver and return guy for the Broncos.

Round 7: Greg Gaines

We see the Broncos going back to Washington late in the draft to select Gaines. He doesn’t wow you on film, but he’s a quality space eater at defensive tackle. Fangio has plenty of punch on the corner, but could use another guy to clog the middle.

Round 7: Nick Brossette

Brossette only had one really good year at LSU, but he was extremely productive last season for the Tigers. He may struggle to make the Broncos out of camp, but he’d be a really intriguing player for their practice squad.
