High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,250

Russell Westbrook (at DEN – $11,000): Needs 53.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 64 fantasy points against Sacramento. Russell Westbrook has found his scoring touch, which has helped those numbers, but his assists have taken a dip. Don’t expect that to last, at least the assists dipping. He’s a playmaker now and I don’t trust his hot scoring run. The minutes will be there in what should be a competitive matchup. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Kyrie Irving (at TOR – $8,800): Needs 42.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 64.25 fantasy points against Chicago. A quick note on Dennis Smith Jr. You can take him with some confidence because that should be an offensive game and he should get you value. But don’t buy too much Knicks stock after the Spurs wins. Especially with a hungry Magic team. As for Kyrie, he’s been fantastic for the Celtics in the second half of this season and I trust him in these big games. The scoring will be there and he’ll chip in with assists and a couple of rebounds. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Jamal Murray (vs OKC – $6,000): Needs 28.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 31.5 fantasy points against LA Clippers. Murray has been over 30 fantasy points in his last two games and now he gets a great matchup against the Thunder. This is a matchup he’s done very well against because Russell Westbrook has no time to guard cutting players. The scoring and assists will be there in this one. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

DJ Augustin (at NY – $4,100): Needs 19.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 31.75 fantasy points against Toronto. Augustin has been strong in recent contests and now he gets the Knicks. If you’re worried about a blowout and Augustin not getting enough minutes, you can look at any Denver guard. I personally like Malik Beasley because he’ll play strong minutes as a starter. But Monte Morris killed the Thunder last time these two teams met. Agustin is more of a sure thing but his ceiling might not be as high. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
