2. Fortify the offensive line

It was a unit that managed to stay on the field for the most part his past season. Left tackle David Bakhtiari and center Corey Linsley started every contest. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga and left guard Lane Taylor each made 14 starts. Still, the Green Bay Packers struggled to run the football, perhaps because they didn’t get a chance to do it very often. More significantly, the club surrendered 53 sacks – all but four at the expense of Aaron Rodgers.

So enter a new offensive line coach in Adam Stenavich, who spent the previous two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. And the team’s new offensive coordinator is confident the team hired the right man. “You saw an amazing confidence in what he was doing,” explained Nathaniel Hackett to Zach Kruse of Packers Wire last week. “You saw a great knowledge of the scheme.

“He was with a guy that I have so much respect for in John Benton, who’s been with the Niners, been around. I got a chance to work with him, so you saw a lot of those things cross over. You see his presence in front of the room. The fact he’s played and been around. There’s so many great things about him, that you wanted him here. That’s why the decision was made.”

The Packers have all five of their current starters for this unit under contract. The team could use a little more depth and that could come in a variety of ways. But this is an area that must bolster its game in a big way.
