High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Thaddeus Young (at DAL – $6,500): Needs 28.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 40.9 fantasy points against Detroit. Young is looking fresh after the break and with Sabonis now out of the lineup, he’ll continue to see big minutes and possibly more opportunities. The matchup is a good one as the Mavericks don’t offer too much resistance, especially in their frontcourt. And I love the way Young is playing right now, even if his salary has jumped a bit. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Dwight Powell (vs IND – $6,000): Needs 26.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 51.6 fantasy points against LA Clippers. The Mavericks have to rely on Powell because their frontcourt is just that messy right now. He’s not exactly a great player, but someone has to get those numbers for the Mavericks at this position and Powell is their guy right now. It’s a tough matchup but again, someone has to get it done for the Mavericks. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

PJ Tucker (at CHA – $5,100): Needs 22.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.6 fantasy points against Atlanta. You typically know what you’re getting from Tucker. The minutes are always there for him and he can do a bit of everything. The matchup is a good one as the Hornets don’t play much in terms of defense and they keep a relatively good pace. Tucker will put up his usual numbers in this one but I’m expecting a bit more in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
