Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma

Height: 5 feet 10 inches

Weight: 195lbs

This year’s NFL Combine will be the Kyler Murray show with the dual-sport athlete showcasing his varied skill set. Things will kick off with the measurement portion of the Combine where many are curious to see his official height.

It was once thought that shorter quarterbacks would rarely be able to succeed in the NFL. However, the likes of Drew Brees and Russell Wilson have shown that the height of a quarterback isn’t the most important thing.

Hand size is something else that will draw some attention during measurements. Smaller handed quarterbacks can struggle with ball security, especially in colder climates.

Once Murray is past the poking and prodding he will get a chance to show off his rare athleticism. It’s expected that he’ll post a blazing 40-time and strong numbers in the rest of the workouts. He has yet to commit to throwing at the Combine.

It would probably be a good idea for him to sit out this drill because it’s not built to help quarterback prospects. They are throwing to unfamiliar targets, which will impact timing and accuracy. Murray would be better off waiting for his Pro Day to show off his arm.
