3. Brendan Rodgers wins first match in charge of Leicester

One of the biggest shocks in British soccer came this week when Brendan Rodgers left his managerial position at Celtic to take over at Leicester. The Foxes sacked Claude Puel after a disappointing season so far and the next day they announced the Northern Irish manager as Puel’s replacement.

Rodgers’ name had been mentioned several time for the Leicester job but nobody expected him to move down so quickly — especially considering he was the majority of the way through a season with Celtic.

In Scotland his record was absolutely sublime as he won back-to-back trebles — one season going undefeated domestically. His Celtic side were (and still are) on track for another domestic treble and many fans of the Scottish club have been left infuriated by his decision to move to Leicester.

It does seem strange considering he could have possibly won a treble-treble this season and instead he’s going to play out 1- games in the Premier League in which Leicester could maybe get seventh place.

Rodgers’ return to the Premier League will see his Leicester side travel to Watford as the two sides face off in Sunday’s earlier kickoff. It’s hard to tell how much impact he will have had in a small space of time but it’s certain that the Foxes will be livelier.

Under Puel, Leicester actually had a strong away record but their soccer wasn’t particularly eye-catching. Leicester fans will be expecting Rodgers to come in and make this side more enjoyable to watch while also bringing more consistent results.

This weekend, Leicester will get the win at Vicarage Road and Brendan Rodgers will be doing all his annoying little clapping in his technical box.
