2. Huddersfield keep survival hopes alive with win over Brighton

If there’s one team that look nailed on to go down this season it’s Huddersfield. The Terriers have had a terrible season and it would take something truly remarkable to keep them up.

They gave themselves a small slice of hope in midweek when they scored a late winner against Wolves and will hope for something similar as they travel to Brighton this weekend. Brighton have struggled of late and will see this as a good opportunity to get things back on track.

With 10 games left in the Premier League season, Huddersfield would basically have to win out in order to stay up. They currently have 14 points so even coming close to survival would be a mini-miracle in itself.

The best thing for Huddersfield fans is they know they’re almost certainly going back down to the Championship. It’s unlikely they’re going to get relegated on the last day of the season so for now every game is just another challenge to see how long they can stay up.

The players at Huddersfield should feel a little bit of this, too. Even five games ago they would have been playing with thoughts of relegation looming over them but now that’s almost certainly going to happen there’s less expectation upon them.

That should give the Terriers more freedom on the pitch and in a strange way give them a better chance of beating Brighton this weekend. Brighton are on a horrible run at the moment and that run will continue this weekend as Huddersfield win 2-1.
