1. Trent Brown, New England Patriots

The NFL is a quarterback driven league and the Rams have a very good young quarterback in Jared Goff. With that being said, Los Angeles must do whatever they can to build a strong offensive line to protect Goff.

Center John Sullivan is 33-years old and struggled at times in 2018, but he has one more season left on his two-year, $10 million contract. Meanwhile, guard Rodger Saffold is set to hit the market and earn one last paycheck. And left tackle Andrew Whitworth, now 37-years old, is contemplating retirement.

It’s safe to say the Rams will need to build this offensive line this offseason and a good addition would be tackle Trent Brown. Brown was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 7th round of the 2015 draft.

During his time in San Francisco he spent a majority of his time playing right tackle. Brown earned distinct praise early in his career from Von Miller, who deemed Brown the best right tackle in the league.

Brown didn’t get the opportunity to finish his four-year, $2 million rookie deal in San Francisco. He was traded to New England in exchange for in exchange for a third-round draft pick.

As a member of the New England Patriots, he transitioned to left tackle and of course protected Tom Brady’s blind side. Brown started in 16 regular season games and in all three playoff matchups.

At only 25-years old, Brown certainly earned himself a pay day once free agency begins. In just a short period of time, he has earned the respect from an elite pass-rusher, transitioned to a new position and won a Super Bowl.
