Round 5 – Pick 146

Joe Giles-Harris, LB, Duke

Tampa Bay has some talent at the linebacker position. Lavante David continues to be one of the NFL’s most underrated players. Kwon Alexander is budding into a stellar player as well. Even Kendall Beckwith has shown promise. However the unit could use some depth and bodies to push those three. The latter two players were hurt to finish the season and all have had injuries in recent years.

A player like Duke’s Joe Giles-Harris is a name to keep an eye on for Tampa Bay. Giles-Harris is an instinctive linebacker with three years of ACC experience. He projects as a linebacker who can chase and run sideline to sideline. Despite weighing 240 pounds, he shows a strong ability to drop underneath and read quarterbacks eyes. He will get caught peeking a few times and take bad first steps. With the right development though Giles-Harris is a future NFL starter.

Round 6 – Pick 181

Tyler Biadasz, C, Wisconsin

After grabbing Jonah Williams in the first round, Tampa cannot sit back and think their offensive line is set. Donvan Smith should be brought back and will round out the tackles with Williams. On the inside the team has a strong starter in Ali Marpet plus last year’s free agent Ryan Jensen at the pivot. There is still a hole in the five-man unit. That spot could be filled by Wisconsin’s Tyler Biadasz.

Biadasz is a big mean man at the center position for the Badgers. There are concerns with his lateral mobility that may ding him. However, when he works straight ahead there is not a body he cannot move. He was a part of an offensive line that paved the way to back-to-back 2000 yard rushers. Biadasz could eventually replace Jansen but be a player at guard until Jansen moves on. Positional versatility will be valued on the inside and this gives the Buccaneers a new look up front that can keep Winston clean and provide running lanes for whoever lines up behind him.
