1. Offensive tackle

As noted before, the Cardinals didn’t have a good offensive line last season. Pro Football Focus ranked the unit dead last in the NFL after Week 17. Like many offensive lines, Arizona’s was hit with injuries and inconsistencies for the greater part of the season.

Earlier, we addressed the need for some interior muscle on the offensive line. However, the Cardinals need for help at the tackle positions is much greater.

The team cycled D.J. Humphries, John Wetzel, Korey Cunningham and Joe Barksdale in and out of both the right and the left. Luckily, free agency has players who could answer this need.

Trent Brown and Ja’Wuan James are two players on the open market that the Cardinals should pursue heavily. Not only are they upgrades, but they are also young options for the team to bring in and build around and they would be worth the money.

Brown has played four years in the NFL. He spent the first three with the San Francisco 49ers, and he played the most recent season with the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. James has played for five years, all of which have been spent with the Miami Dolphins.
