As Tarik Cohen continues his ascent to stardom in Matt Nagy’s offense, it appears more and more likely that Jordan Howard has seen the potential end of his career in a Bears uniform.

The team has already met with a number of talented running backs so far during the NFL Combine, meaning that they’re likely to invest one of their five picks at the running back position during the upcoming draft.

One under-the-radar name who could be an excellent fit in Nagy’s offense is Temple’s Ryquell Armstead. Armstead was a touchdown machine  in his career with the Owls, racking up 34 rushing touchdowns and nearly 3,000 yards during his time on campus.

At 5-foot-11, 220 pounds, Armstead displays remarkable speed and explosiveness (4.45 40-yard dash, 7.02 3-cone) and runs with an attitude that make him extremely difficult for opposing defenders to bring down. His aggressive running style can sometimes get him into trouble, as he doesn’t often display the patience needed if running lanes aren’t open right away, but there’s no doubt that Armstead will be the type of guy that an NFL team can call on in short-yardage situations.

Armstead would present an excellent complement to Tarik Cohen in the Bears’ backfield and could be one of the biggest steals of the 2019 class if Chicago is able to land him in the fifth round.
