1. FS Lamarcus Joyner (Los Angeles Rams)

This past summer, Los Angeles Rams’ cornerback Aqib Talib had high praise for one of his newest teammates (via Dan Graziano on Instagram). The subject was free safety Lamarcus Joyner, who the Rams had slapped the franchise tag on to prevent his departure.

“He reminds me of Earl Thomas,” explained the veteran defender. “He’s sideline-to-sideline. They throw fades, he comes out of the post, and any sideline, he gets to that fade. So he lets the corners be a bit greedy when I know my post safety is going to get there on the fade. He’s got a great burst out there in the post, man. He flies around this field. So he reminds me of Earl Thomas, and I do not think he gets enough credit.”

So how ironic would it be if the Seahawks, likely in search of Thomas’ replacement, not only snagged a player that’s been compared to their longtime star safety but in the process robbed the defending NFC West champions of a key part of their defense?

This past season, the Seahawks scored exactly 31 points in each of their games with the Rams and wound up on the losing end in both instances. A little more help on the defensive side of the ball could swing the balance of power in Seattle’s favor this fall.
