The Miami Dolphins could be in the market for a new quarterback this offseason, as they are rumored to be parting ways with Ryan Tannehill. It was a pretty up and down career for Tannehill in South Beach, as he looked to be a first round talent on plenty of occasions, but could never stay healthy enough to plant his feet as the long-term solution for Miami at quarterback.

While this draft class has a couple of first round quarterbacks, next year’s draft has more, and the Dolphins should wait until next April to address the position. With their 2019 first round selection, they should bring in an elite edge rusher, and Montez Sweat is fresh off a dominant performance at the NFL combine.

Sweat showed the kind of athleticism that makes scouts drool at the combine, running the fast 40-yard dash by a defensive lineman in combine history. That is certainly saying something, and a guy that blends his size, speed, and strength is certainly not going to find himself falling out of the first round any time soon.

Miami is going to have to eventually replace Cameron Wake, who is getting up there in age, and Sweat is certainly a guy who can take that torch and run with it. The Dolphins have a lot of work to do in terms of this roster, but they have a new head coach in place in Brian Flores, and after starring as a defensive coach for New England, he would be more than happy with Sweat as his first first rounder.
