2019 NFL Mock Draft: Kyler Murray goes to Cardinals
By Brad Weiss
The New England Patriots are once again the kings of the NFL, after dispatching of the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl last month. For Tom Brady, it was his sixth Super Bowl championship, as he became the only player in NFL history to win six rings, which is an incredible accomplishment for a guy picked at No. 199 overall.
As they look towards next season, they have a lot of questions to answer, and that includes some of the bigger names on the roster. New England will not place a tag on kicker Steven Gostkowski, or edge rusher Trey Flowers, so it will be interesting to see what they do in terms of either bringing them back, or replacing them.
With their first round pick in April, New England may want to grab arguably the third-best quarterback in this draft class in Duke signal-caller Daniel Jones. Jones has the size, and arm to be a legitimate franchise guy at the NFL level, and the Patriots should have a need at the position eventually.
New England could actually go a number of different ways with this pick, but Jones is a first round talent, and Bill Belichick and company may need to start thinking long-term at the quarterback position. Sounds crazy coming off a Super Bowl win, but Brady is not getting any younger, and Jones is a fantastic talent.
