High Salary PF

Players costing over $6,250

Jerami Grant (at POR – $5,100): Needs 24.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 18.25 fantasy points against Minnesota. It’s rough at the forward spot on Thursday. That’s what happens when there are only two games. Grant has been up-and-down in recent contests and was down against the Timberwolves. But the minutes and opportunities are always there. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Nikola Mirotic (vs IND – $4,800): Needs 22.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.75 fantasy points against Phoenix. Mirotic hasn’t exactly found a great rhythm in Milwaukee but there reason to think he’ll start to turn it around. The minutes and opportunities are there, which always counts for something. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

High Value PF

Players costing $6,250 or under

Markieff Morris (at POR – $3,500): Needs 16.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 12.25 fantasy points against Minnesota. Aminu and even Ilyasova might be better options in this spot but I like Morris’ ceiling in this game. He’s had some big games throughout his history against the Blazers. And he could see time against Enes Kanter. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a good ceiling.

Jake Layman (vs OKC – $3,400): Needs 15.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 15.5 fantasy points against Memphis. Layman typically gets enough minutes to make some kind of impact and he’s at a very good salary given those minutes and opportunities. He had 32.5 fantasy points against the Thunder on Feb. 11 if you’re looking for some confidence. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
