High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

Jusuf Nurkic (vs OKC – $8,600): Needs 38.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 38.5 fantasy points against Memphis. The salary is high but Nurkic typically plays well against the Thunder. He had just 32.9 fantasy points in the Feb. 11 meeting, but I think that was more the exception than the norm. Expect him to return to form against a matchup he’s typically dominated. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Myles Turner (at MIL – $7,700): Needs 34.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 45.2 fantasy points against Chicago. Turner was struggling for a bit but has looked better in the last two games. I don’t like the matchup for him because the Bucks are just a tough out, but Turner has shown a high ceiling. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Steven Adams (at POR – $7,000): Needs 31.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 38.2 fantasy points against Minnesota. Adams has looked more like himself in the last three games, but he typically doesn’t do well against the Blazers. He had just 17.2 fantasy points against them on Feb. 11 as the Thunder scheme to have him box out Nurkic instead of grab rebounds. And that scoring isn’t really there. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a decent ceiling.

Brook Lopez (vs IND – $6,200): Needs 27.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 16.8 fantasy points against Phoenix. Again, I’m willing to give the Bucks a pass for the Suns game. They’ll be better against the Pacers. And you typically know what you’re getting from Lopez. The minutes and shots will be there and he’s proven to be a shot blocking machine. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
