Mountain West

  • Dates: March 13-16
  • Location: Las Vegas, NV
  • Top Seed: Nevada

Another traditionally strong mid-major league, the Mountain West tournament has a bit of intrigue this season. The league has one sure-fire lock in Nevada, but the intrigue here surrounds the no. 2 seed, Utah State.

The Aggies earned a share of the regular season title thanks to a huge victory over the Wolf Pack on Senior Day, and it is by far the best mark of their resume. Utah State has an outside shot at an at-large if they lose to Nevada in the Mountain West finals, but at that point, they’d be better served to win the thing and control their own destiny.

If Nevada wins the tournament, it could make the Mountain West a one-bid league in 2019, making this one of the most pivotal conference tournaments for bubble teams to track.

Prediction: Nevada
